Bijala began with a relationship to a place, and the wish to carry a little of it home.
A personal story
The temple was part of growing up.
I grew up in New York with a Tibetan mother and spent winters visiting the temple. It was a place I returned to, long before there was a collection.
Bijala grew out of that connection: jewelry shaped by Tibetan culture, made for the life I knew in New York.

A blessing we carry forward.
For fifteen days, twenty Gelug monks made a sand mandala for Mahāvairocana. Grain by grain, the pattern took shape. Then it was swept away.
At the close of the ceremony, the monks placed a portion of the fine blessed mineral & crystal grains in our hands. That relationship to the temple continues through the pieces we make.
